Iran have won all four games so far with their latest 1-0 win over UAE in their fourth-day match Thursday and are cruising close to the championship in the AFC Dream Asia Cerebral Palsy Tournament UAE 2012 with one more match on Friday.
Also on Thursday, Australia beat Singapore 8-0 and remain second in standings while Korea Republic defeated Jordan 5-0 and leapfrogged Singapore to the third spot on the points table.
Behnam Sohrabi scored the lone goal in the match for Iran who so far have accumulated 13 goals in the tournament.
Australia’s David Barber scored three goals, Jack Williams and Michael Debenham each contributed two while Connor Marsh scored a goal in their match against Singapore.
Kim Hyung-soo was the man to watch in the match where he scored four of the Korean’s goals while Park Seung-mok added one.
The final match day on Friday is as follows:
Match 1: Iran vs Korea Republic
Match 2: Australia vs Jordan
Match 3: UAE vs Singapore
The six-nation competition is the first tournament by the AFC for people with cerebral palsy and is held under Dream Asia, an AFC-led movement that uses football for positive social change.
