The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is delighted to announce the launch of the body’s new official magazine, AFC Quarterly.

The first edition of the magazine, which features exclusive and in-depth interviews and features on the leading players, coaches, clubs and federations from around the region, was published this week.

AFC Quarterly adds another element to the confederation’s comprehensive media strategy and is available both in print format and as a downloadable PDF from www.the-afc.com.

“The AFC Quarterly is the confederation's latest effort to reach out to the millions of passionate fans of Asian football and put on splendid display the game’s glorious achievements,” said AFC Acting President Zhang Jilong.

“The biggest endeavour of this magazine is to make household names of our players and put the spotlight on our many competitions, which produce countless moments of top-notch football entertainment.”

AFC Player of the Year Lee Keun-ho from Korea Republic is the cover star of the inaugural edition, which also features interviews with 2007 AFC Asian Cup winning striker Younus Mahmood, Olympic bronze medal-winning coach Hong Myung-bo, and Uzbek legend Mirdjalal Kasimov.

“It’s time to celebrate Asian football’s roaring success through our new communications initiative – the AFC Quarterly,” said AFC General Secretary Dato’ Alex Soosay.

“The objective is to spread the good word about the Asian game around the world by chronicling the achievements of our teams, players and administrators.”

The 68-page magazine also features news and updates on the confederation’s competitions, including the latest on the preparations for the AFC Asian Cup Australia 2015™.

AFC Quarterly will be published every three months, with the second edition due to be published at the start of April.
